Promoting the cultural arts experience at HBCUs

From gospel and music studies to jazz ensemble performances, Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States have played an essential role in providing the educational foundation and exposure opportunities for students pursuing their interests in arts, dance, design, music, theater, and cinema.

The HBCU Cultured Dance and Arts Society strives to bring awareness to the significant contributions of HBCU’s to the performing arts community while also strengthening the infrastructure and providing technical and financial assistance for existing programs to ensure their sustainability for years to come

Mission:

HBCU Cultured Dance and Arts Society (HBCU Arts) is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to create, highlight and strengthen the performing arts programs of Historically Black Colleges and Universities as well as youth pipeline performing arts programs throughout the United States. 

Purpose:

Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States play an essential role in providing the educational foundation and exposure opportunities for students pursuing their interests in performing arts. 

The HBCU Cultured Dance and Arts Society strives to:

  1. Bring awareness to the past and present contributions of HBCUs to the performing arts community
  2. To generate funding and grant opportunities to support identified HBCU and youth performing arts programs
  1. To provide scholarships for aspiring and current students who identify performing arts as their selected college major
  2. To provide financial support for small businesses of HBCU alumni in the performing arts industry
  3. To provide opportunities for small businesses affiliated with and support HBCUs
